ABOUT THE GROUP

This Group was formed several years ago in order that there should be a club able to represent the North Wales Photographic Association in the PAGB Inter-Club Championships.
There are only 22 clubs in North Wales, mostly with a very small membership and they find it extremely difficult to get enough work together to compete nationally.

The first meeting which I organised was in February 1997 and we had 21 paid-up members.
The Eryri Photo Group has as its members the keener photographers from the other clubs. We have competed many times in both the PAGB Club Projected Image Championship and the Club Print Championship. We have won the Plate Competition at the Print Championship twice and reached the Final of that Championship in 2009.
For the last several years we have entered Inter-Club competitions organised by the Photographic Society of America and managed to score quite well.

Many of our members have gained PAGB, RPS, FIAP , BPE and other distinctions.
We hold informal meetings when members bring work for discussion – talking about their projects and showing recent successes and this helps to motivate us all. As our members live as far apart as Abersoch, Beaumaris, Blaenau Ffestiniog & Wrexham, it is almost impossible to find a venue that will suit everyone, but we usually meet in Llandudno.
We operate on a calendar year and usually hold our AGM at the end of January.
